International holidays

International holidays undoubtedly have worldwide importance as they are celebrated all around the globe irrespective of nationality, citizenship or religious beliefs. The majority of such holidays appeared relatively not long ago on the initiative of such international holidays as the UN or UNESCO, although some of the holidays originated so long ago that even historians can't define where exactly they stem from.
Such international holidays in some countries are celebrated in a big way, in other countries - without much fuss and festivity. But it doesn't change their importance – international holidays united and still unite people by eliminating borders of cultural differences and giving positive emotions and cheerful mood. The unique character of such holidays is that any person is able to join the global civilization and become a full member of the international celebration. The International Day of Custom Houses, the International Day of Music, the International Day of Smoking Cessation, International Day of Toilets, International Day of Greetings, Day of the Sun, International Day of the Family, International Day of Fishing, International Day of Kissing and International Day of Beauty – all of these holidays, as well as many others are worth supporting and celebrating.
One of the most popular international holidays is the Day of Laughter (often called the Fools' Day) when people try to play tricks on each other. The holiday has a very long tradition as even in Ancient Rome people had a similar day on the 17th of February.
